Crafted from a base of winter wheat in the village of Åhus, Sweden, Absolut Vodka launched in New York in 1979.
Its transparent and label-less bottle, inspired by an 18th Century medicine bottle, stood out from its tall, flashy, competitors.
This was 1970’s New York, after all. You had to be different to get noticed.
Unlike some other vodkas, there is no added sugar.
It is rich in body, yet smooth and mellow with a distinct character of grain, followed by a hint of dried fruit.
