Chateau Lauriga ‘Jardin de Roses’
Grenache and Syrah flourish on the Pyrenaean foothills of vineyards located in the Roussillon area of the Languedoc region. The grapes are allowed to reach full maturity to produce wines with a fresh fruit expression such as grapefruit, cherry and strawberry, enhanced with floral notes similar to those found in a rose garden. The “Centifolia” rose is renowned for its honey and spice fragrance. The “Travita” is known for its light perfume with a touch of apple. The “Red Eden” for its powerful aromas and the “Damas” for its heady perfume. It is with these varieties that 4 different label designs have been issued, featuring each of the above four roses, on top of a uniquely designed bottle in the crystal style. Each bottle can be collected, after the wine is enjoyed, for use, perhaps, as a vase for your favourite flower?
The harvest of 70% Syrah, 30% Grenache grapes comes from strictly selected plots, is destemmed on arrival at the cellar and pressed in a pneumatic press under a controlled atmosphere. The selection of juices is done during tasting before blending before and after fermentation.
Fine and subtle notes of blackberry, cherries, raspberry, strawberry and red apple. Fresh, minerally and flinty. A wonderfully complex rose that can rival the best of Provence. Expect lots of finesse and elegance.
