Leyrat Glory ‘Extra’ Decanter
This is a cognac from the Leyrat distillery made from estate-grown grapes and aged in Fins Bois. The makers themselves admit that the traceability for the brandies in the Extra is not perfectly transparent. As such we are only able to offer a guarantees that they are at least 40 years old. The brandies for this expression are now safely locked away in demijohn to prevent any further development. It is an astoundingly “fresh” cognac in despite of its age and shows aromas and flavours of flowers, apricots, peach, real vanilla bean, and honyesuckle as well as cream, coffee, sweet caramel, and pale tobacco. It has an incredible length on the palate and is an Armagnac that displays lightness and finesse along with intense flavours and remarkable complexity. The accompanying decanter is – we must say – very attactive indeed.
