Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 10 Year Old

This first permanent release of Port Charlotte replaces multi-vintage Scottish Barley. As the flagship Port Charlotte, it showcases the smoky, barbecue qualities of this distillery’s spirit.

Peated at 40ppm, and taken from a combination of first-fill American whiskey casks (65%), second-fill American whiskey casks (25%) and second-fill French wine casks (10%).

This Port Charlotte 10 year old has been conceived, distilled, matured and bottled on Islay alone.

Producer’s Tasting Notes

Appearance: Deep golden amber.

Nose: Intense peat smoke intertwined with hints of sea salt and coastal brine, reminiscent of a bonfire by the shore. Undertones of ripe orchard fruits and vanilla add depth and complexity.

Palate: Robust and full-bodied, with a bold explosion of peat smoke that coats the palate. Waves of briny maritime notes mingle with sweet caramel and toffee, balanced by a touch of citrus zest and oak spices.

Finish: Long and lingering, with the smoky essence gradually giving way to a lingering sweetness, leaving behind a warm and comforting sensation.
