Chateau Beychevelle is often described as the Versailles of Bordeaux due to the stunning beauty of the Chateau and gardens.
The 1855 classified fourth growth is situated on the banks of the Gironde estuary with 92.5 hectares.
The vines consisting of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot.
The 2009 vintage has many unique characteristics, both the tannin and phenolic levels broke all records in 2009.
However, thanks to beautiful acidity, the wine remains fresh and well-balanced. It is tremendously fruity (with blackcurrant, black cherry and very ripe blackberry nuances) reflecting just the right degree of maturity in the grapes, without any over-ripeness. It is a wine that boast tremendous finesse and elegance alongside an enormous power. One of the best left bank wines of 2009.
